SVP Partners Grant Programs Strengthen Nonprofit Capacity Across Greater Sacramento
Sacramento, CA — Sacramento Venture Philanthropy (SVP) is proud to share the progress of its 2025 Accelerator Grant Program, through which SVP Partners have pooled resources to create a total of $100,000 in grants to build nonprofit capacity across the Greater Sacramento region. These grants are designed to fuel internal systems strengthening, leadership development, and operational effectiveness in local organizations, enabling them to serve their communities more efficiently and sustainably.
In 2025, SVP has already awarded three capacity-building grants, with a fourth still under review. In addition, SVP will invest $50,000 in the upcoming SVP Fast Pitch Showcase (November), as well as has already deployed $25,000 in nonprofit support and provided hundreds of hours of pro bono consulting and strategic support to nonprofits across the region through Fast Pitch, Think Tanks, and other SVP programs.
2025 Accelerator Grant Recipients
1. The Alliance
SVP’s first $25,000 Accelerator Grant supports The Alliance: Defending The Cause of Kids & Families in launching and scaling their Love In Action database, upgrading internal systems to support the 100+ nonprofits in their network, and organizing a collaborative event serving nonprofit Executive Directors. The Love In Action database — an online platform that links community needs with volunteers, donors, and member organizations — is central to The Alliance’s mission of connecting vulnerable kids, families, and support agencies in real time.
With SVP’s investment, The Alliance will enhance data infrastructure, strengthen back-office capacity, and convene nonprofit leaders to foster peer learning and shared vision among its broad network.
2. Yolo Community Foundation – Yolo NEON Cohort
The second $25,000 grant supports Yolo Community Foundation’s Yolo NEON (Nonprofit Excellence in Operations Navigator) program for 2026, a cohort-based training initiative designed to help Yolo County nonprofits elevate their operational capacities — in back-office functions like finance, human resources, legal, and IT.
SVP’s funds will bolster the cohort curriculum, engage subject matter experts, and subsidize participation costs for local nonprofits. With participation expected from 25–50 organizations, the program aims to reduce operational risk, increase efficiency, and equip nonprofit leaders in Yolo County with tools to scale impact.
3. Neighborhood Wellness Foundation
SVP’s third $25,000 grant goes to Neighborhood Wellness Foundation (NWF), a Del Paso Heights–based organization with a mission to disrupt intergenerational trauma, poverty, and health inequities through community-led healing, education, and support services.
As a Fast Pitch alum, NWF already engages youth and families via programs such as Healing Circles, PACERS Take Space, Restore Legacies, and Higher “Heights” — all with an emphasis on trauma-responsive care, empowerment, and systemic change.
SVP’s support will help NWF expand its capacity for direct service, enhance program monitoring and evaluation, and deepen its footprint in Del Paso Heights as a trusted anchor organization in one of Sacramento’s most challenged neighborhoods.
4. Fourth Accelerator Grant — Coming Soon
SVP’s fourth 2025 Accelerator Grant is currently under review by the SVP Investment Committee and will be formally announced in Q4 2025.
Broader Impact & Additional Investments
In tandem with the $100,000 in Accelerator Grants, SVP is making a multi-dimensional investment in the region’s nonprofit ecosystem:
$50,000 reserved for awards to participants in the SVP Fast Pitch Showcase (November 2025), enabling promising nonprofits to gain early traction.
$25,000+ in additional grants and micro-investments already deployed in 2025.
Hundreds of pro bono hours of consulting, coaching, strategic advising, and capacity support provided by SVP Partners to nonprofits across Greater Sacramento.
SVP believes that a thriving nonprofit ecosystem depends not just on program funding, but on strengthened infrastructure, leadership development, peer networks, and sustained support. The 2025 Accelerator Grant Program is a bold step toward that vision.
