Sacramento Coalition for Digital Inclusion

SVP Sacramento has partnered with the City of Sacramento, the Sacramento Public Library, and Valley Vision to serve as a steering committee for the Sacramento Coalition for Digital Inclusion.

The vision for the coalition is that every citizen and household in the Greater Sacramento Region has access to the internet, the equipment needed to use it, and the skills necessary to utilize it.

The mission of the coalition is to facilitate collaboration among organizations and initiatives working to bridge the digital divide in order to maximize the resources for the greatest impact.

In an effort to steer this work forward the Sacramento Coalition for Digital Inclusion has held two meetings in July focusing on digital equity and inclusion in the Greater Sacramento Region. The first workshop was hosted at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library on the 24th in Meadowview. The second workshop was on the 26th at the Hagginwood Library in North Sacramento.

There will be two more workshops in August:

The workshops have provided tremendous information regarding the plan and the potential areas of focus. At these meetings we have had a diverse set of stakeholders. We have had local constituents, direct service providers, funders, and representatives from our local and county governments. The more data and feedback we are able to collect, the more holistic and impactful our plan will be.

We would love for you to attend one of the upcoming workshops and engage with the coalition. If you are unable to attend and are interested in supporting please reach out the
