SVP Sacramento Hosts- Rotary Club Brown Bag Lunch

Rotary Club of Sacramento: Brown Bag Lunch

We were excited to host 15 Rotarians at our office for the Rotary Club Brown Bag Lunch Day. We spent the afternoon touring the Impact Venture Capital/Social Venture Partners innovation space while diving into the impact that we are creating in the community.

SVP Founder, Board Member, and Partner, Jack Crawford, kicked off the lunch with a history of SVP Sacramento’s founding and his excitement for leveraged impact in the education space. Following SVP’s founding story, Cameron Law, our Executive Director, talked about the variety of programs and services SVP provides to the nonprofit community both on the nonprofit and philanthropist side. He addressed our core three programs of:

  1. Social Innovation: Fast Pitch

  2. Social Engagement: Think Tank-a-Thons

  3. Sustainable Funding & Capacity Building: Investee Portfolio

The final piece of the program was a panel of both SVP Investees and Fast Pitch participants moderated by SVP Partner and Fast Pitch Committee Chair, Elfrena Foord. Our panelists were:

  1. April Javist - Executive Director of the Sacramento Public Library Foundation

  2. Justin Self - Director of Advancement at 916 Ink

  3. Nikki Wardlaw - Director of Development and Partnerships at College Track

Each panelist talked about their personal and organizational experience of working within the SVP community. They delivered insight into how nonprofits and philanthropists alike could be impacted from engaging with SVP.
